Honest answers to the questions we hear most. If yours isn't here, email [email protected] — we reply within a business day.
The non-AI fundamentals — where we're incorporated, who the team is, how the engagement starts.
Yes. We're incorporated in Ontario, headquartered in Toronto, and our engineering team is Canadian-resident. Customer data lives in Canadian Azure regions (canadacentral / canadaeast) by default — we'll only host outside Canada if you explicitly ask for it.
We design every product against Canadian regulation first — CRA, FINTRAC, LSO, TRESA, RECO, CMHC, federal Child Support Tables — not as a "localization" pass after the fact.
A short, free working call. Two engineers join, you walk us through your workflow, your data, the bottleneck you're trying to fix. You leave with a one-page brief — even if you never hire us afterwards.
If you want to go ahead, the next step is a written scope with fixed price. We don't do open-ended hourly billing.
Three SaaS products today: RaaS (review analytics), Realtor Suite, and Jurisnova (law-firm practice management). Each has a self-serve tier and an enterprise / private-deploy tier.
Custom AI builds for businesses with a specific problem are described on the Solutions page — typical shapes are RAG over private archives, spreadsheet-replacing internal tools, and integration layers under existing SaaS stacks.
The compliance officer's questions. For the long-form version, see our post on Canadian AI compliance in 2026.
No. Customer data is never sent to model providers for training. We use enterprise tiers of OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google (zero-retention enabled by default) and we pin models to versions you've signed off on. Confidential client documents in Jurisnova are processed in-region and never leave Canadian infrastructure.
If you want a full data-flow diagram for your compliance team, we'll send you one before the contract.
By default, in Azure's canadacentral or canadaeast regions, against vendor endpoints that promise data residency in Canada (Azure OpenAI Canada, Anthropic Cross-Region with the CA option, etc.).
If your engagement specifically permits US or EU inference (e.g., for cost or model availability), we'll call that out in writing and require explicit sign-off before any data crosses a border.
We design every system against the strictest applicable regime by default. For Quebec-facing customers that usually means Law 25; for legal customers under solicitor-client privilege, the LSO's confidentiality and supervision rules apply on top of PIPEDA; for FINTRAC-reporting brokerages, our pipelines never expose reportable info to non-reporting third parties.
If your business is in scope for an obligation we don't yet support out-of-the-box, we'll tell you up front and either build the support in or recommend you go elsewhere.
We quote in writing before any code is touched. No surprise change-orders, no scope-creep premium.
Per-seat with no enterprise minimum and no per-feature paywall — what's on the screen is what's in the price. We publish exact tiers when each product opens up for self-serve; until then, we'll send the current price list when you book a demo.
Three engagement shapes, all fixed-price:
The Solutions page describes all three. The discovery-sprint fee is credited toward the next engagement if you hire us.
The free tools on this site (mortgage calculator, child support, GST/HST, realtor commission) are genuinely free with no sign-up — they're our calling card.
For the SaaS products, expect a free trial / sandbox rather than a permanent free tier — running real LLM workloads has real per-token costs that don't make sense to subsidize indefinitely.
SaaS, private cloud, on-prem — we ship all three. The right choice depends on your compliance and ops constraints.
Yes — every product is designed to ship into your own Azure / AWS subscription for customers who need data-isolation guarantees. The chart, infra modules, and SSO hooks are built around that deployment path from day one. Pricing is per-deployment rather than per-seat in that mode.
If you're a law firm specifically, you can try Jurisnova at jurisnova.ai before committing to a private instance.
Yes. Our default reference architecture is Azure (because most of our Canadian data-residency customers already standardize on it), but the Helm charts and Terraform modules are cloud-agnostic. AWS and GCP private deployments are slightly more setup work but supported.
We can, but it's the most expensive option because LLM inference requires either an air-gapped GPU box (very expensive) or a network bridge to a hosted model. We'll happily walk you through the tradeoffs if it's the only path that fits your compliance posture.
The engineers you meet on the diagnostic call are the same engineers who write your code. We don't outsource production work, we don't hand off to junior teams after the sale, and we don't run an offshore "delivery centre". The team is small and senior on purpose.
Business hours (Eastern Time / GMT-5), Monday through Friday, with an on-call rotation for production incidents on retainer customers. For non-emergency questions, email replies typically land within one business day.
Yes — written and verbal in English and French. The UI of all three products is shipping with EN at launch and FR as a high-priority follow-on (we don't claim "bilingual product" until both are at parity).
The questions a careful buyer asks before signing — and we wish more buyers would.
Fair question. Three things are baked in:
1. Source escrow for custom builds. If we wind down, the source for anything we've built specifically for you is released under a perpetual license. 2. Standard data export. All our SaaS products ship with a one-click full-data export (JSON + CSV) — your data is yours. 3. Migration help. If you ever want to move, we'll help you, no exit fee.
Yes, any time, without asking. Every product ships with a self-serve "export everything" path that produces a single archive of your records in JSON and CSV. No "request a CSV via support ticket" patterns.
It's our problem to solve, not yours. Every product and custom build pins a specific model version that you've signed off on. When that version is end-of-lifed by the vendor, we re-test against the next version, run an eval, and update — included in your subscription / retainer.
Yes — Data Processing Agreements as a standard part of any commercial contract; Standard Contractual Clauses for any work where data crosses borders; HIPAA-style BAAs are available on the private-deploy tier of Jurisnova where a healthcare-adjacent customer needs them.
